To be eligible for membership:
  • You must be enrolled in a regionally accredited institution offering an associate degree program.
  • You must have completed at least 12 hours of coursework that may be applied to an associate degree (part-time students may be eligible).
  • You must have a grade point average of 3.5.
  • You must receive an invitation to membership from the chapter at the college where presently enrolled.
  • You must adhere to the moral standards of the society.
Membership is based on superior academic achievement and is offered to eligible students by invitation. 

To be eligible for a provisional member:
  • You must be enrolled in a regionally accredited institution offering an associate degree program.
  • Must demonstrate academic excellence as defined by a GPA of 3.25 on all credits taken in high school.
  • Must adhere to the school conduct code and possess recognized qualities of citizenship.

Provisional members can actively engage in all PTK activities but are limited by the following:

  • Provisional members are not eligible to apply for scholarships
  • Provisional members are not eligible to serve as a chapter officer.
  • Provisional members are not eligible to vote on chapter, regional, or International matters.
  • Provisional members are not required to pay the International and regional membership fees until they qualify for full membership.

To be eligible for an alumni member:
  • ​Alumni members are members of the Society who are no longer enrolled in a two-year college.
  • Terminated their active membersip in good standing with a minimum of one year enrollment at the two-year college
  • Almuni members are entitled to all the provledges of full members except the right to vote or old office.
