Notice for Prospective Applicants
Placement Testing: All applicants interested in applying to a selective admission program must demonstrate they are college-level in reading, writing, and math through the College's placement test (AccuPlacer) or submission of exemption criteria. Information on placement test exemption criteria and registering for the AccuPlacer (if needed) can be found on the Testing Center website.
Online Anatomy & Physiology Courses:
- Anatomy & Physiology courses taken online (or LiveOnline, Hybrid, etc.) at Rowan College South Jersey are ACCEPTABLE for all selective admissions programs.
- Anatomy & Physiology courses taken or in-progress at another college will need to provide additional documentation in the applicant's portfolio.
- Anatomy & Physiology courses taken online at another college prior to Spring 2020 are not acceptable for Selective Admissions programs.
We cannot guarantee transfer of online Anatomy & Physiology courses taken or in-progress at another college. Applicants will need to consult the admissions packet for their program of choice for more information.
Selective admissions describe programs in which the applicant must meet additional admissions criteria beyond general acceptance to the College and submit a separate application (portfolio) for their program of choice. Each program accepts one cohort of students per academic year.
RCSJ currently offers selective admissions programs in the Nursing and Health Professions on the Cumberland Campus. Explore each program to learn

How do I apply?
Step One: General Admissions
- New student? Complete the
general admissions application.

AAS Health Science major recommended for Nursing & Health Professions programs

Send final high school completion credentials to the Admissions office
- Send official college transcripts to the Admissions office (if applicable)
- Take the
RCSJ Placement Test (AccuPlacer) or provide
criteria for exemption
- All applicants must demonstrate college-level placement in reading, writing, and math before portfolio submission
Step Two: Meet Ranking Requirements
- Ranking requirements are unique to each program
- Ranking criteria typically include a standardized exam, a science course, and a combination of either a math course or GPA requirement
- Admissions ranking criteria is non-negotiable
- All applicants must meet at least the minimum score or letter grade in each area to be considered eligible

Step Three: Assemble Portfolio and Submit!
- Download your program's admissions packet and portfolio instructions from the program page.

Attend an information session for your program of choice - offered monthly through the application cycle
- Print and complete all required forms in the Portfolio
- Compile all required documentation in a large manila envelope, including additional copies of college transcripts
- Submit to the Admissions office by the posted deadline!
