On July 1, 2019, the former Cumberland County College and Rowan College of Gloucester County, merged to become Rowan College of South Jersey. The PN curriculum was designed to be completed in two semesters.

Graduates from the Practical Nursing Programs at RCSJ earn an Academic Certificate in Practical Nursing and are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensing Examination (NCLEX-PN) and to apply to a State Board of Nursing for licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Students can complete general education courses (non-PN courses) at either the Gloucester or Cumberland campus or transfer the courses from another institution. Applicants will choose one campus to complete the Practical Nursing program. Application has been made to the New Jersey Board of Nursing to host a Practical Nursing program on the Gloucester campus beginning fall 2025, pending approval. If approval is not granted, those students accepted to the Gloucester campus will be guaranteed a seat to attend the program on the Cumberland campus.

Admission to the Practical Nursing Program is highly competitive. There is no guarantee of admission, even if an applicant exceeds minimum program admission criteria in one or more areas.

Course schedules may vary and are subject to change each semester. Students are required to provide their own transportation for clinical experiences. Clinical placements can be located within a 90-minute radius from Rowan College of South Jersey.​

Practical Nursing Information Sessions

All applicants must attend ONE information session from the dates below prior to submission of a portfolio
Advance registration is required for all sessions.

All information sessions will start promptly at the posted time and last about 1.5-2 hours.

Late entries (10 minutes past start time) will be prohibited. ​Plan accordingly!​
