FREE Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction is available to all RCSJ-Cumberland students. We offer on-campus tutoring as well as virtual tutoring using Zoom as our video conferencing platform. Zoom is free and can be used from a laptop or cellphone.
Make a Tutoring Appointment
Tutoring: Tutoring is available by appointment and scheduled primarily through Starfish. Please view the Making a tutoring Appointment in Starfish Instructions to make an appointment.
To have the appointment made for you: complete the Tutoring Request Form and you will be contacted for an appointment.
After hours: Online/virtual tutoring sessions outside of operating hours are available, if needed. Please contact the Tutoring Center for help scheduling.

Academic Coaching
Academic Coaching is a partnership between coach and student that focuses on the process of learning and overcoming individual barriers.
While tutors aim to improve performance in a particular subject area, academic coaches meet with their students at least once weekly to help them:
- Understand their personal learning style
- Connect to campus resources,
- Address specific challenges,
- Build the skills necessary to meet their goals across multiple subject areas.
Academic Coaching is fully customized to the individual student’s needs, guiding them in bolstering their weakness and feeling confidence in their strengths, empowering them to take ownership of their academic success.
