Financial Aid at Gloucester

Verification

The U.S. Department of Education randomly selects students nationwide for verification. This process requires students to document their financial circumstances and to ensure the information listed on the FAFSA is accurate. The Rowan College Office of Financial Aid will verify the files of those students who are selected. Financial aid will not be awarded until this process is complete.

  • Students selected for verification during the 2023-2024 aid year must provide verification documents from the 2021 tax year.
  • Students who are selected for verification during the 2023-2024 aid year must provide verification documents from the 2022 tax year.

How it Works

  1. Students receive an email via their Rowan College email address explaining they've been selected for verification and which documents they must submit to the Office of Financial Aid.

  2. Students must gather all of the required documentation and submit everything as one organized package to Financial Aid. This will become part of their file for the aid year.

  3. Students must monitor their progress by continually checking their Rowan College Portal under the "Financial Aid Requirements" section and college email address.

  4. If required to make corrections or provide additional documentation, students must do so as soon as possible.

  5. Once the file has been verified, the Office of Financial Aid will package the student according to his/her eligibility.
