RCSJ and the Division of Health and Human Services present: Stress-Busting Program for Family Caregivers Of People With Alzheimer’s Disease or Dementia

Individuals who serve as caregivers for loved ones suffering from Alzheimer's disease or dementia know that the role comes with a lot of stress and finding time to care for themselves can be difficult. Thanks to a grant from the Division of Health and Human Services, AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP offers a program of stress management techniques including relaxation and coping strategies.

The Stress-Busting Program for Family Caregivers is a multi-component program that meets for 90-minutes a week. Topics including breathing, meditation, imagery, progressive muscle relaxation, chair yoga, art therapy, journaling and music will be discussed, along with the role that stress can play in one's life, coping strategies and the importance of caring for one's own health.

Zoom sessions will be held once a week for nine weeks, 1 – 2:30 p.m., from July 21 to Sept. 15 and from Oct. 6 to Dec. 1. The workshops are offered to caregivers at no cost, but space is limited. For more information, or to register, call (856) 468-1742.
