People in Transition

Center for People in Transition

The Center for People in Transition is a social service agency dedicated to assisting displaced homemakers in becoming self-sufficient.

Who is a Displaced Homemaker?

A “displaced homemaker” is defined as an individual whose major source of income and financial support is lost through separation, divorce, death or disability of a spouse or partner.  Many times, displaced homemakers are unaware of where to find support and referral services.  These individuals are often emotionally and/or vocationally unprepared to enter the workforce.

For displaced homemakers who are experiencing stress, fear, rejection or depression because of a situational crisis in their lives, the Center People in Transition offers individual assistance as well as group workshops.

The Center provides assistance in career, financial, legal, psychological, and social services.
