Rowan College of South Jersey's Military Outreach event, held on April 11.
On Friday, April 11, Rowan College of South Jersey (RCSJ) hosted its annual Military Outreach event for veterans, service members, and military families to connect to one another and learn more about college, county, state, and federal resources available to them.
This free event was held in the Gloucester campus Math & Engineering Center and student veterans and their family members, along with military-affiliated individuals from the surrounding community, were invited to attend.
Support personnel were on-site from the Gloucester County Board of Commissioners Office, New Jersey, and United States Departments of Military & Veterans Affairs to share information on support programs for service members and veterans. Additional resources from Catholic Charities; the Education & Health Services of America, Reentry Veteran's Services; Health Care for Homeless Veterans; South Jersey Legal Services; and Veterans Affairs Vet Center, Readjustment Counseling were also represented.
Staff members from RCSJ's department of Student & Military Affairs, Center for Wellness & Support, and campus food pantry were joined by representatives from Rowan University's Office of Military Services to share information on programs that veteran and military students can benefit from on campus as they work to earn their degree or credential.
“It's an honor to assist military students and their families by connecting them to the many resources available in Gloucester County and New Jersey, along with services and support provided here at the College," said John Ryder, RCSJ's director of Student and Veteran Affairs.
“Every year we look forward to this fun and informative event; but if you missed it, you can always contact our office when you're ready and we'll help you get set up with what you need."
