Rowan College of South Jersey (RCSJ) has been ranked the No. 6 Best Online Community College in New Jersey in the Optimal Guide to Online Schools.

In compiling its guide, Optimal researched 550 community colleges nationwide to determine the best online institutions based on students' needs and career goals. The new college rankings provide affordable online education options that are essential for student success as the country continues to battle the COVID-19 pandemic.

Many students are rethinking the traditional model of a brick-and-mortar environment and considering the safety and value of an online education. Online learning provides the momentum students need to keep moving forward with their education.

"The pandemic caused our world to change, but that does not mean students must sit on the sidelines waiting for the return of normal," said RCSJ President Frederick Keating, Ed.D. "It is important to keep moving forward and making progress. Online education makes it possible for students to fulfill their dreams of obtaining a higher education."

In ranking the state's top online community colleges, Optimal's methodology incorporated many factors that are important to the success of a community college, including retention rate, graduation rate, and the variety of programs available.

Of the New Jersey community colleges on the list, RCSJ is the most affordable school at a cost of just $3,348 per semester. To help reduce the financial stress of pursuing a higher education and keep students moving forward, RCSJ is freezing its tuition rate for the 2020-2021 academic year.

To keep pace with the changing collegiate landscape, RCSJ is reimagining opportunities, offering more choices and enhancing learning experiences that benefit students, businesses and industries in the community. The College defines a new generation of community colleges that focuses on personal career advancement while providing knowledgeable and experienced employees for the future.

RCSJ offers affordable online options for students who want to follow an education path from home and bypass the unpredictability of what the fall semester may bring. Find out how to move forward by visiting RCSJ.edu. Fall semester classes begin September 1.
