Library Federal Work Study Student

​Looking to earn some extra money while attending school?

The Library is looking for student workers who receive financal aid and have been awarded Federal work study money.  The library will work around your classes to schedule you for work on the time you are not in class.


Job Description and Requirements for Library Student Worker

A Library Student Worker is an important support person in the Library. The primary functions are to assist the Library staff in the day to day operations. The student workers assist by performing predominately clerical and collection maintenance jobs. Some of the duties include: assisting with circulation duties; reshelving items in the collection (books, cds, dvds, videos, magazines etc); assisting with interlibrary loans; assisting with the delinquency and overdue notices; assisting with inventory; and assisting with moving the collection.

This position assists the Library staff and is supervised by the Library Services Assistant. No professional Library duties are included in the Library Student Worker position. Student workers will not be assisting patrons with their research.


FWS ELIGIBILITY Eligibility for the Federal College Work Study Program (FWS) is determined by the student applicant completing a FAFSA, which documents student need or eligibility for FWS. An eligible applicant must also meet the following requirements:

  1. Be enrolled in an eligible major, i.e. cannot have “Undeclared” as a major.
  2. Must maintain satisfactory academic progress standards as defined by federal & state grant programs.
  3. Must be accepted by the college and enrolled on at least a half-time basis.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen. FWS/STUDENT AWARD NOTIFICATION

Students interested in the Federal Work Study Program are encouraged to contact the Office of Financial Aid at 856-415-2219. If an applicant is found to be eligible for Federal College Work Study, he/she will be notified in a Financial Aid Award Agreement and Federal Work Study Employment Form, which are mailed to the applicant. If the student decides to accept Federal College Work Study, he/she must sign and return to the Financial Aid Office both the Financial Aid Award Agreement and the Federal Work Study Employment Form.
