Join us as we welcome you all back to campus for IN-PERSON Job Readiness, Computer Skills, and Life Skills Workshops.

All sessions are FREE of charge and open to the public. 

January 2024 Workshops
January 2024: Health Goals (Virtual)   
10 a.m.- 12 p.m.
   
   
  • S.M.A.R.T Goals (1/08/24) - Participants will identify specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound goals. 
  • Physical Health Goals (1/17/24) - Participants will learn about the importance of maintaining physical health. Participants will also discuss the benefits of physical fitness and healthy eating practices. 
  • Mental Health Goals (1/22/24) - Participants will review and discuss the importance of mental health. Participants will lastly review and identify healthy self-care practices.
   
   
   
February 2024 Workshops​
February 2024: Positive Parenting (Virtual):     
5 p.m.- 7 p.m.        
     
  • Intro to Parenting (2/08/23) - Participants will review past and current parenting trends. Participants will also learn about healthy and unhealthy parenting practices. 
  • Discipline Strategies (2/15/23) - Participants will learn effective parenting discipline and communication skills. 
  • Co-parenting Practices (2/22/23) - Participants will explore the pros and cons of co-parenting practices. Participants will further learn effective co-parenting strategies.

March 2024: Cultivating Diversity (Virtual)

  • Defining Diversity (3/06/24) - Participants will learn the fundamental terminology about diversity.
  • Workplace Diversity (3/13/24) - Participants will review the importance of workplace diversity.  Participants will also learn techniques on how to cultivate workplace diversity. (PUT Together)
  • Implicit & Explicit Bias (3/11/24) - Participants will learn the differences between implicit and explicit bias. Participants will also review the importance of promoting allyship and bystander prevention.
  
April 2024 Workshops​
April 2024: Job Readiness (In-Person- Alms Center 1 M.L.K. Jr Wy, Bridgeton, NJ 08302)
  
10 a.m.- 12 p.m.   
  • Resume Building (4/03/24) - Participants will learn the basics of creating and revising a work resume. Participants will also learn the hiring process of reviewing work resumes. 
  • Writing Cover Letter (4/15/24) - Participants will learn the basics of constructing and revising a cover letter.
      
  • Interview Skills / Mock Interviews (4/17/24) - Participants will learn and practice appropriate interviewing techniques as well as strategies.

  • Keyboarding 101 (5/01/24) - Participants will learn the basic functions of the computer keyboard. Participants will also learn helpful typing strategies. Participants will also learn the basics of Zoom functions.
  • Intro to Microsoft Word (5/06/24) - Participants will learn the basic functions, how to operate, and how to utilize Microsoft Word.
      
  • PowerPoint (5/08/24) - Participants will learn the basic functions, how to operate, and how to utilize PowerPoint.
