Justice Studies A.S.

​​​This program encourages comprehensive understanding of the nature of crime and the goals of the criminal justice system. Students are introduced to organizations, occupations and regulations that govern the criminal justice system. The program prepares students to enter a specific criminal justice field or continue their studies at a four-year college/university. Two themes are critical throughout the program: leadership and ethics.

Program Learning Outcome

Students who have completed the program
will be able to:
  • ​Identify the role of each component of the US criminal justice system. 
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the US Constitution and the constitutional implication of the criminal procedure in the US as applied to arrest, use of force, and search and seizure.
  • Identify the moral, ethical and legal obligations of criminal justice professionals.
  • Recognize the roles of various criminal justice professions.
  • Locate, retrieve and critically evaluate information and information sources related ​to the profession​​
