NJ STARS (New Jersey Student Tuition Assistance Reward Scholarship)
The NJ STARS program, created in 2004 by the State of New Jersey, provides the state's highest-achieving students with access to higher education. The Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA) is the governing agency that determines guidelines for state residency, refunds and repayment.

Students should review the fact sheet that applies to their status:
Every NJ STARS student must complete the FAFSA and appropriate financial aid paperwork yearly by the appropriate deadlines. Failure to complete these items can result in loss of the student's NJ STARS award.
All out-of-county students
must submit a chargeback every semester by the deadline to the Business Office at Rowan College South Jersey to maintain their NJ STARS eligibility.
All incoming transfer students
must meet with the NJ STARS coordinator before their first semester. Several documents must be completed before students receive their NJ STARS award.
NJ STARS I recipients also
may have the opportunity to take advantage of NJ STARS II, which provides eligible students with a scholarship toward tuition at a participating New Jersey public four-year college or university.
