This course equips students with the essential knowledge and skills needed to manage the business aspects of a dental practice. They will learn communication skills, accounting procedures, insurance claims, dental terminology, patient scheduling, inventory management, and dental procedures and coding. Upon completion, students can obtain their Certified Dental Office Assistant Certification.

This course is approved by the New Jersey Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners for 45 hours. Students will be introduced to the basic radiologic principles of intraoral and extraoral imaging of the dentoalveolar structures, as the radiographic examination plays an integral role in the diagnostic process in dentistry in conjunction with the clinical examination. The dental assistant must be proficient with intraoral and extraoral techniques to fulfill their roles as dental professionals.

This Academic certificate in applied science program prepares students for a position in one of the fastest growing health care fields with a curriculum introducing them to the profession of dentistry. They will learn all areas of clinical dental assisting and receive training in the professional skills required to function as an assistant in a dental practice.
