Probation & Academic Leave


12 credit probation


Students who are placed on 12 credit probation, will be restricted to enroll in no more than 12 credits for the fall semester.  Students placed on 12 credit probation must make an appointment with their assigned academic advisor  During your appointment, you will discuss your current course load and troubleshoot any problems that may be avoidable for the upcoming semester.  Required participation in RCSJ’s Academic Success Program, along with other campus resources, will also be discussed as part of your plan to get you back on track for the next semester.  If you are scheduled for more than the allowed number of credits, you may be removed from a course(s) so that you are in compliance with the probation policy.

14 credit probation


Students who are placed on 14 credit probation, will be restricted to enroll in no more than 14 credits for the fall semester.  Students are encouraged to adjust their schedules accordingly and meet with their assigned academic advisor to address any concens they may have regarding fall enrollment.  If you are scheduled for more than the allowed number of credits, you may be removed from a course(s) so that you are in compliance with the probation policy.

Academic Leave


Students placed on academic leave are prohibited from registering for any courses during the next full academic semester  As part of your recently updated probation status you must make an appointment with Ms. Hannah Simmons.  During your appointment, you will discuss your current course load and troubleshoot any problems that may be avoidable for the upcoming semester.  Required participation in RCSJ’s Academic Success Program, along with other campus resources, will also be discussed as part of your plan to get you back on track for the next semester.  If you are scheduled for more than the allowed number of credits, you may be removed from a course(s) so that you are in compliance with the probation policy.
