Health, Physical Education & Recreation, A.S. (Gloucester)

​The Health, Physical Education & Recreation program provides students with a solid foundation of learning experiences, enabling them to transfer to four-year universities to pursue careers as health and physical education teachers, as well as other recreation employment options.

Program Goals
Program graduates will demonstrate the ability and skill to:

  • Apply their knowledge and demonstrate basic instructional strategies for teaching and lesson planning in health and physical education
  • Demonstrate proficiency in history, skills and knowledge of team and individual sports
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills to promote recreational activities to sustain healthy living and lifelong fitness
  • Analyze, evaluate and provide basic care in emergency situations
